Most business systems ask you to change your process to suit the software. I do it the other way round — I build the system around the way your business already runs, and you deal with the developer, not an account manager.

Everything I build runs properly on a phone in a vehicle as well as a screen in the office, so the person doing the work can record it while they're doing it.

What I'd build, what it does, what it costs and how long it takes. Fixed scope and a fixed price, so you can weigh it against what the problem is costing you now.

Build in stages, with something to try at each one
You see working software early and often, and you steer it. Changing your mind in week two is normal and cheap; discovering a problem at handover is neither.

Support from the person who wrote it
When something needs fixing or the business changes, you call me — not a ticket queue, and not someone reading the code for the first time.
Who you're dealing with
I'm Matt. I build the software myself.
Red Arrow IT is deliberately small. There's no sales team, no layer between you and the person writing the code, and no incentive to sell you a bigger project than the one you need.
I build on mainstream, well-supported technology — React on the front end, .NET and Azure SQL behind it, hosted on Microsoft Azure. That matters more than it sounds: it means any competent developer could pick your system up if I got hit by a bus, and nothing you rely on is a dead end. Most of my work comes from referrals, which is the only marketing I really trust.
I'm based in Richmond and work with businesses across Nelson, Tasman and further afield — remote work is normal now, but I'd still rather come and see the job.
